Cat-sultations!

🐈 + 🌞 = 💙

Are you lucky enough to have a cat AND a balcony? Then this is for you.

Introducing: “CAT-SULTATIONS”, our in-person consultations to check out and measure up your balconies to suggest the best cat netting products + solutions to keep your little friends safe.

With so many different products on the market, and many situational variables (no-drilling, awkward balcony shapes, etc.), a bit of advice before committing to an installation will mean you can enjoy the warmer weather with balcony doors wide open and worries away.

What is a
CAT-SULTATION?

Catsulations cost 65EUR for a maximum of one hour. During this time your Queen will:

  • measure up your balcony

  • check for any potential kitty escape routes

  • help you choose the right products that will keep your feline friends safe

Please note: Our extra travel charge applies to addresses outside our standard service area. Please see the map on our pricing page

To drill, or not to drill?

Drill Options -

  • Require permission from your landlord if you need to drill into the facade

  • Often better for more active (or chonkier) pets as they have greater durability

  • Require much less maintenance (tension rods need tightening, especially in the summer)

  • Got an especially crazily designed balcony? This is usually a better idea to cover all escape routes.

No Drill Options -

  • Doesn’t require any permission from your landlord

  • Great if you’re subletting and are moving a lot as they can be reconfigured easily

  • Requires minimals tools so could be handled independently if you are able / willing / feel comfy straddling a ladder on a 5th floor balcony

Not sure which is the right option for you? Book a CAT-SULTATION with us and let us handle it.

top tips for installing cat safety nets

  • For open top balconies, use extending poles that clamp to your balcony handrail (or drill into the inside) with an ‘anti-climb overhang’

  • Think about the colour of netting - if you look out onto trees, think about a green. Other Buildings? A darker net would blend in nicely😉

  • Look for potential ‘escape routes’ such as gaps between railings or guttering. Things like cables ties, strategically placed planters, and cleverly drilled hooks can all help close those sneaky gaps

  • Don’t assume the laziness of your pet - especially if there are trees (trees mean birds) near your balcony

  • Don’t use items that aren’t fit for purpose - for example tension rods meant for curtains or insect net frames, neither are strong enough

  • Always buy at least 1m more netting than you think you need in width - nets are often cut at super janky angles
